JIU JITSU Classes
[Advanced NoGi | 10th planet Jiu Jitsu]
These classes are high paced and very technical. To participate you are required to know the 10P warm up curriculum as we do them on a timer with little to no instruction. After the warm up of the day we usually dive into technical drilling, and/or positional sparring. Classes end with free rolling. At 10P Bergen we don't put any restrictions on submission holds - all subs are legal!

[MASTERING THE WARM UPS | BEGINNER PROGRAM]
No prior experience needed, perfect for beginners. Slow paced, fun and technical, Mastering The Warm ups is your entry level into the 10th Planet universe. In this class we focus on the 10th Planet warm up curriculum, 8 sets of technical warm ups which need to be mastered. These 8 sets have 4 different flows in each, and focus on different themes in the nogi game. We also do some mobility and movement work, preparing you for the advanced class. At MTW we only do a little positional sparring at the end of each session.

These classes will go more in depth on different scenarios and positions aimed towards Jiu Jitsu competitions. These sessions are good for both beginners and advanced jiu jitsu players.

About
10th Planet Bergen is the first official 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu affiliate in Norway. The gym is located at Nordneshallen near Bergen city center. We offer 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu sessions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well as Shooto and Combat Jiu Jitsu on Fridays and Open Mat on Saturdays. We also offer pure beginner classes, highly structured, technical, safe and slow paced. Beginner class is called Mastering The Warmups and run every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before advanced class.
The core mission of the gym is to develop a strong base of fighters for NOGI submission-only jiu jitsu!

10P Bergen was founded in August 2015 by Frode Nilsen, a 10th Planet Black Belt and certified Moonhead under Eddie Bravo. A pro MMA fighter and multi-disciplined grappler, Frode has over 27 years of martial arts experience, including black belts in Japanese Ju Jutsu and Kickboxing, and was Norwegian Sanshou champion in 2009. He pioneered moves like the Frodoplata and Gogoclinch in the 10th Planet system. In 2023, Frode relocated to Fredrikstad to start 10P Fredrikstad, passing leadership of 10P Bergen to certified Moonheads Espen Visnes and Kristian Olsvik. In summer 2025, Espen and Kristian decided to step back, and Benjamin “Benji-San” Mercury Ito became caretaker and Head Instructor.

Benjamin Mercury Ito
Moonhead/ head instructor 10p Bergen Brown belt, Black belt under Imanari and competitor.
“Benji-San” is an accomplished and letal Jiu Jitsu athlete. A Judo Black Belt, he has been living in Japan, and has for years been training primarily under the legendary Imanari. Benjamin was announced as new Moonhead and caretaker the summer of 2025. Owner of 10pBergen.
Jonas Lie Celentano
Assistant Instructor 10p Bergen Brown belt and competitor.
A real 10p Bergen OG, entering the mats at 10pBergen from day one. Jonas is a rock solid practitioner with a lot of knowledge.
Åsmund Steinsland
Assistant instructor 10p Bergen Brown belt and competitor.
Åsmund, a true warrior, technical pratitioner and instructor. A pure 10pBergen homegrown with a solid commitment to the Jiu Jitsu journey.
Alrik Strandnæs Olsen
Assistant instructor 10p Bergen Purple belt and competitor.
The jokester and center of attention, Alrik is one of the first instructors you’ll meet when joining the 10P family.
Recently promoted to Purple Belt, he’s a true motivator, a great sparring partner, and knows how to get the best out of your training. With a solid understanding of the system and an easygoing personality, Alrik is always approachable.
